CAA Listserv

The CAA listserv meets one of the CAA’s most important goals: to keep archivists in touch with each other, sharing knowledge, recommendations, and questions on a local level, with information specific to local sources and needs.

You do not need to be a CAA member in order to subscribe to the list.

Subscription Information

Subscribe

Email listserv@listserv.it.northwestern.edu and include the following:

  1. subscribe chi-area-archivists
  2. first and last name (no email signature)

Unsubscribe

Send “SIGNOFF CHI-AREA-ARCHIVISTS” to listserv@listserv.it.northwestern.edu (no email signature)

Change your email address

Unsubscribe your original email address, then re-subscribe with the new email address.

Post to the Listserv

Only subscribers may post directly to the listserv (this is to cut down on spam).

Subscribers: send an email to to chi-area-archivists@listserv.it.northwestern.edu.

Non-subscribers: send your email to the Listserv Manager.If approved, it will be posted on your behalf.

Search the Listserv

  1. Go to Northwestern's Listserv site and follow the instructions to set up a non-Northwestern password with the email address you used to subscribe to the CAA listserv.
  2. Confirm the new password, then log in on their site.
  3. Click on "Subscriber's Corner" at the top left and you'll see "CHI-AREA-ARCHIVISTS," where you can access the archives.
